Remote Environmental Scientist/Engineer - Project Manager 

JOB SUMMARY:

Our Client is seeking a REMOTE Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support their Federal Programs in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The successful candidate will contribute to the successful profitable execution of a wide range of government projects, both large and small, within a team of professionals with well-defined goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


 Manage Projects and support Field Team Leaders to conduct field work including, but not limited to: soil/groundwater sample collection, drilling of soil borings, installation of monitoring wells at federal facilities.
 Manage and document field activities (record, compile and complete field data via logbook and electronically).
 Conduct Phase I’s / II’s and document findings within reports.
 Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on PFAS/PFOA and stay abreast of changing regulatory and legislative environment with regard to these emerging contaminants, especially as it pertains to the Department of Defense and the Federal Government.
 Conduct Quality Control reviews of reports and deliverables of peers and junior personnel.
 Support sales and administrative teams in proposal preparation (including pricing estimation, sample problem responses, project timelines, and personnel resource needs).  Develop and review project schedules and budgets, and conduct monthly invoicing activities as required.
 Prepare Planning Documents and Reports for environmental projects including Preliminary Assessments / Site Inspections, Remedial Investigations / Feasibility Studies, site investigations, site characterizations, and remediation projects.
 Serve as the liaison between analytical laboratories, field personnel, and clients to ensure that data validation needs are met.
 Support Technical Division with various duties that require analysis, research, and data gathering from government and/or publicly available sources.
 Research and analyze technical data and draft technical reports.
 Successfully complete all required safety training.  Support equipment repair, calibration, and maintenance.
 Collaborate with remote, interdisciplinary teams to achieve client and company objectives.
 Participation in sales activities and the pursuit of new work with various business teaming partners.

EDUCATION:

 College or university degree of Bachelor of Science or equivalent or higher degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field or degreed Environmental Engineer.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Minimum five plus years of experience as an Environmental Scientist or Environmental Engineer supporting environmental and remediation projects for federal clients.
 Knowledge of current regional and national initiatives relative to Environmental Remediation and Compliance.
 Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations (e.g., Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Air Act, National Historic Preservation Act, the Sikes Act, and similar laws).
 Experience working with federal agencies such as US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Defense Agencies, EPA, DOE and their policies and procedures.
 Experience with analyzing field data and making recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
 In-depth understanding of development of work plans (ex. UFP-QAPP, APP, SSHP, PMP/QCP) and reports for environmental projects.
 Must be able to balance multiple concurrent projects simultaneously.
 Strong technical writing and formatting skills.
 Microsoft PC applications; WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint.
 Valid driver's license.
 Willingness/ability to travel up to 10%.

PREFERRED:

 PG or PE strongly preferred.
 PMP Certification is preferred.
 Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training/8-hour refresher.
