Environmental Field Technician – Baton Rouge, LA

JOB SUMMARY:

Our Client is seeking an Environmental Field Technician to support their Federal Programs in the Baton Rouge, LA area. The successful candidate will contribute to the profitable execution of a wide range of government projects, both large and small, within a team of professionals with well-defined goals.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 Conduct field work such as soil/groundwater, air monitoring, sediment, and surface water samples for laboratory analysis.
 Work with Project Managers and Field Team to set up all field equipment required for sampling activities.
 Assist with drilling of soil bores, installation of monitoring wells at federal facilities.
 Support geophysical, geologic and geotechnical mapping projects, and assist with GIS activities as needed.
 Coordinate with environmental drillers, geophysical surveyors, excavation service providers, field laboratories, and land surveyor(s) subcontractors.
 Assist with the installation and development of monitoring and remediation wells.
 Maintain required safety training (e.g. HAZWOPER training, TWIC, CPR/AED training, etc.)  Document all field activities in project logbooks.
 Communicate regularly with environmental staff, operations personnel; management and other staff as applicable in a collaborative manner.
 Champion Clients' safety culture.
 Ensure each Client project is successful by being dependable and positive, performing client interface, and providing accurate, complete and timely paperwork.
 Provide close communication with management providing details of projects and schedules.
 Prioritize schedule to accomplish tasks for time-sensitive deliverables.
 Ability to work independently, but also thrive in a team environment.
 Other tasks as needed to meet project, client and corporate goals.

EDUCATION:

 Minimum HS Diploma required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Current driver’s license.
 Ability to pass a drug/alcohol and federal background check for facilities and installations and industrial sites.
 Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
 Ability to lift 50 lbs.
 2+ years’ continuous experience in environmental, construction or industrial projects.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

 TWIC Card.
 Current 40-hr HAZWOPER and/or 8-hr HAZWOPER refresher training.
